Prayer:
Merciful God, your Son came to save us and bore our sins on the cross:
may we trust in your mercy and know your love, rejoicing in the righteousness
that is ours through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
We are
grateful to Steve and Rose Williams for taking the Holy Communion service in
Nether Winchendon and the Family Communion service in Chearsley today. They have kindly sent us the following brief
biography:
“Rose and Steve
retired (if clergy ever retire!) 3 years ago and moved to Princes
Risborough. Steve was born and grew up
in High Wycombe and Rose in Suffolk.
Steve worked in industry for 20 years and then trained, in Oxford, for
ordination. Rose was a teacher and then
a mother (probably the most important job of the lot). After marrying and living in London they
moved back to High Wycombe and lived there for 18 years both becoming Lay
Readers. Steve served his curacy in
Wycombe and then became a vicar in Aylesbury during which time Rose was
ordained. For the 9 years before
retirement they lived in Essex where Steve was a vicar and a Bishop’s Officer
dealing with areas of large scale new housing while Rose assisted in the
parish, did some hospital chaplaincy work, became a spiritual director and led
quiet days and retreats. We have three
grown up children.”
