For 3 weeks in March “Soul Spark” was set up in each of our 3 benefice churches. It
provided 10 “stations” for quiet contemplation. A chance to unburden
yourself, dream of the future and get closer to God. Some comments
were “moving, inspiring, wonderful, peaceful, calming”.
1.Yes!
Write something that you would like to say thank you for on the back of a heart and hang it on the tree.
then choose a picture that makes you smile and stick it on the collage.
2. Who is God? Take a moment to be with him. Take a breath, take a bite, take a drink. God is inside you as well as around you.
3. Who am I? Look in the distoring mirror. Leave your fingerprint on the blossom tree. It is unique and so are you. You are special.
4. Why Worry? Wrap the chain around your wrists, then take it off and feel released. Place a pebble in a bag for each of your worries.....
then leave it at the cross.
"Leave all your worries with him because he cares for you". 1 Peter 5:7
5. Praying for others. Take a strip of material to represent someone you wish to pray for, then one for yourself and one for God. As you plait them together imagine that you are wrapping them up in your love and God's love.
6. Caring for your world. Bring an item of nature in from outside and place it on the table. Take a leaflet home and make a difference.
The world is in our hands. You can spoil it or care for it.
7. Serving others. Read about jesus washing his disciples feet.
8. Life is like a weaving.
It has its ups and downs, its ins and outs. The weaving has silver and Gold threads for the good times and dark colours for the times when we are sad, ill or feel a failure. Thread them into the tapestry and read the poem.
"Not till the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly, will God unroll the canvas and explain the reason why, the dark threads are as needed in the weaver's skilful hand as the threads of gold and silver, in the pattern he has planned."
9. In loving memory. Light a candle for a loved one, then write some memories in the book.
10. Hope for the future. Place a stone in the cairn for each hope or dream that you have.
