We plough the fields and scatter

We had a weekend of celebrating all the good gifts around us.

First with a Harvest Supper in our fabulous new village hall, beautifully decorated by Tara and Joy and scrumptuous salads and pudds provided by our talented bakers

Then this morning, Richard led, our Harvest Festival where we collected food for the Steppin Stones centre for the Homeless in Oxford.

If you missed the service, feel free to drop items off to Cloverdale on Monday or Tuesday.  We promise not to eat them, but take them in to Oxford on Wednesday.

Habitat for Humanity Build

As many of you will know, Oliver and Darren Sampson went to Kenya in July to help build a house, with Habitat for Humanity, for a grandma looking after her two grandchildren and niece.

Here is the house she lived in before they arrived.

And here is the house they built, when they had to leave.

And here is the house after the local builders finished it off.

Harvest Festival

Do come along on Sunday at 10am and join our Harvest Festival, taken by Richard Phillips.

As well as the more traditional fresh fruit and vegetables, we would love some dry produce such as tinned food, rice, pasta or sugar as we will be donating items to the Steppin Stone centre for the homeless in Oxford.

If you prefer, there is a BCP Holy Communion in LC at 8am taken by Richard Phillips or 10.30am, also in LC taken by Derek Witchell.  Then an Evensong in NW at 6pm taken by Richard.

Meadowsong Photos

Thanks to Ann Persson for the loan of her "Meadow" and to Paul and Laura for their beautiful singing.  The weather was glorious and everyone enjoyed a very relaxing afternoon last Sunday at Meadowsong.

This Sunday

If you are coming along to the Chearsley Classic Car Show from 11am this Sunday do pop in to our Messy Church Tent where there will be face painting, car making, biscuit decorating and a chance to think about our journeys through life, or to ask us "What exactly is Messy Church?"

Then at 6pm we have our Evensong service in Church, led by John Scholefield.
