Hiding Place - 3rd December

The Hiding Place is being performed by The Oddment Theatre Company at St Nicholas Church, Cuddington on Monday 3rd December at 7.30pm.  Tickets are available through their Benefice Office at St Mary’s Centre, Haddenham or online at www.oddments-theatre.co.uk.  Ticket price is £10.

The play is the incredible story of the Ten Booms, a devoted Christian family who felt they couldn’t just watch the devastating circumstances of the Jews so they acted and set out on an incredible rescue mission.  This led to Corrie and her sister being imprisoned in the Second World War.  The production focuses on God’s influence on Corrie’s life and how God gave her the strength and means to do His work in terrible circumstances.

Book early to avoid disappointment!

Messy Church - We are the body of Christ

1 Corinthians 12
"You are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it."

Our very first Messy Church finally took place on Sunday, with lots of "body" related crafts and activities.  Seventy people came along to try it out, with crafts, activities, worship and food.

We added a hand or foot print to our banner.  Hopefully each month when we see our prints, we will remember that it is our church, where we will always be welcome.

We chose a body part that best represents us and made it out of clay

- ears - for good listeners
- eyes - for those that are spotting people in need
- hand - for comforting
- feet - for running errands
- nose - not sure about that one!

When we put them all together, our great, loving, supportive, comforting community looks like this!  Not scary at all!

We dressed jumbo people and gave them woollen hair.

We made bodies out of vegetables - very Chearsley Show style!

We also had an amazing sensory quiz with things to sniff, and touch and listen to.  It was fascinating that one item adults could not smell, only children.

A popular choice was junk modelling.

All ages had a great time together.  One big new family enjoying time together.

If you missed it, do join us next month, 4pm 11th November for Remembrance Day Activities.  Family, Fun, Friendship and Food.
