Children's Crib Service - This Sunday 3.30pm
Please come along on Christmas Eve at 3.30pm for our Children's Crib Service, to hear the Nativity Story, sing a few more carols and enjoy a mince pie and mulled wine. If the children would like to come dressed up or bring a sheep or stable animal, that would be great. There will be an opportunity for all children to take part and help build our Nativity Scene. If Mary and Joseph have been staying at your house, don't forget to bring the little knitted sheep along!
Later on, at 11pm there will be a midnight communion, a more formal celebration of Christ's birth. Then, at 10am on Christmas Day we have a Christmas Praise Service.

Christingle
An angry Angel Gabriel put in an appearance at our Christingle this evening and explained to us, that while people in the bible were scared of angels, nobody needs to be scared of God because he came down to earth as a human, in Jesus, to be with us and show us that he loves us.
Then everyone received a Christingle, an orange (the world), with a candle (Jesus), a red ribbon (his blood shed for us) and the favourite - sweets (food he gives us). A collection was taken for the Children's Society.

Men's Breakfast
"Hoping, against the odds!"
Mike Reading
Mike Reading was an educationalist for over twenty-five years, becoming
one of the country’s youngest headteachers when he led a boy’s grammar school
in Lincolnshire, before relocating to head up one of the most challenging
schools in the country. In 2016, whilst on holiday in Gran Canaria, he was
taken seriously ill and had little chance of survival. Despite being told that
he was dying, he made a remarkable recovery against the odds. He is married to
Ronnie and they have a 16 year old son. Mike took up the position of Curate at
St Mary’s and Barley Hill churches in July 2017.
