This Sunday - 3rd April 2016
On that first Easter 2000 years ago, Jesus asked his disciples to "Do this in remembrance of me". Come along and join our Family Communion service and share the bread and wine with us. As usual, there will be a Junior Church upstairs with a story and craft. The service will be led the Revd. Derek Witchell.

New Vicar Update
We are pleased to announce that after a further interview process, the Parish Representatives, Patron and Bishop Alan have agreed unanimously to offer the post of vicar to a candidate and he has accepted.
Bishop Alan's office is now making the necessary arrangements for this to be formally endorsed by the relevant authorities (a more drawn out process than usual because there is currently no Bishop of Oxford); once this has been completed a public announcement of the name of the new incumbent will be coordinated with his current parish as quickly as possible.

The PCC
Would you like to take a more active part in the running of the church? Then why not consider joining the PCC? We meet about once a quarter and have our discussions over a glass of wine and a piece of cake.
So what is the PCC?
Aims, Purposes, Objectives and Activities
St Nicholas' Parochial Church Council (PCC) has the responsibility of cooperating with the vicar, in promoting the whole mission of the church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. The PCC is committed to enabling as many people as possible to worship at our church and to become part of our parish community at St Nicholas. The PCC maintains an overview of worship and makes suggestions on how our services can meet the needs of the many groups that live within our parish. It also makes provision for pastoral care and is responsible for the maintenance of the church.
The small print: no one may be elected as a lay representative to a parochial church council or deanery synod unless his or her name is on the church electoral roll of the parish and he or she is at least sixteen years old and an actual communicant (i.e. having received communion according to the use of the Church of England or of a Church in communion with the Church of England at least three times in the preceding twelve months). Except in the case of those under 18, the names of those standing for election must in addition have been entered on the church electoral roll for a period of six months preceding the election.
If you would like more information or to put yourself forward, please contact the churchwardens (Alicia, Joy), the secretary (Claire Henry) or the Chair (Darren).
