Prayers from Sunday

Last Sunday,at our Toy Service, the Rev Derek Witchell suggested that the children's prayers be put on our website so that we could all use them this week, so here they are:

Dear Lord
We ask that the children’s gifts we offer today will bring happiness, fun and laughter to those who receive them.

Please take care of all children everywhere.
Keep them safe from danger
and help them to grow up strong and good.
In times of darkness, may your light shine strong in their lives.

We pray for all the families and victims of the violence in Paris last week. We pray for all people around the world who are suffering in wars.  We ask for the hatred and fear to stop, and for your love to show us the way towards peace.

As we rush and worry in our daily lives, help us to stop and let the words of Jesus into our hearts. May our faith grow strong so that we can trust in you every day.

As Christmas approaches, let us remember the true meaning of the birth of your Son, Jesus. May we be generous in spirit to others – helping our families and friends and showing care and consideration to everyone we meet.

Lord in your mercy
Hear our prayers
Amen

Pew Sheet - 8th November 2015

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
