Confirmation 23rd November 2014

There was a proud vicar and some very proud parents on Sunday, at St Dunstan’s Church in Monks Risborough, as 19 children from the Benefice, including 11 from Chearsley, confirmed their Christian faith.  Some of the children were invited to help ring the bells before the service in this beautiful 11th century church, which added to the lovely atmosphere.

The service was led by Bishop Henry Scriven, a very warm and “human” Bishop who gave us a thought provoking sermon based on the “Great Commission”
I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.  Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,  and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age.

Many thanks to Vicar John for running the confirmation classes, to Paul & Ann for lending us their upper room and to all those from the Benefice who came along to support our children. Thanks also to the congregation of St Dunstan’s who were so welcoming, laying on cakes and refreshments both before and after the service.

And to Jack, Alex, Oliver, Rory, Tory, Grace, Maddie, Amy, Isabelle, Libby and William, we are very proud of you.
